Who we are

Guthega Inn is a boutique hotel offering guest accommodation, a restaurant and a licensed bar.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect information you give us when you book with us, register with us, email us, arrange a viewing and when requesting brochures or information. We require only the information we need to provide the service to you, such as:

• your name, and or the name of all guests under your booking
• postal address
• telephone number
• vehicle number plate
• credit card details

Any additional information requested such as preference information (likes/dislikes) is used to provide you with a service or a better online experience.

In a data entry area we may request some optional “demographic” information. We use aggregates of this information (e.g. average age) to understand our audience. From time to time, Guthega Inn may report aggregate information to other parties such as our sponsors. No personal or other information that may be used to identify you is included in this disclosure.

In order to better understand how our customers use this site, we collect and analyse some aggregate information about our site users. This includes such things as what time of day they visit the site, which browser they use and which pages they visit. No personal or other information that may be used to identify you is included in this analysis.

Guthega Inn logs all activity and maintains audit trails of usage of this site. We use this information in the detection and prevention of fraud and other malicious activities.

BOOKINGS

Accommodation bookings are made via the MEWS booking engine, please refer to the MEWS Privacy Policy for further details. From time to time we may use Online Travel Agencies, please refer to the respective agency website for their privacy policy.

Restaurant and Experience bookings are made via NOW BOOK IT booking engine, please refer to the NOW BOOK IT privacy policy for further details.

Email

Guthega Inn does not send “spam” unsolicited emails.

Before any email address is collected for use by Guthega Inn, permission will be requested from you. After obtaining authorisation we will use email messages to provide you with information, requested services or latest news items.

We may contact you on behalf of a third party. We will only do this if we are satisfied that the third party has your consent to do so.

We may also contact you to ask your opinion on our website features or processes, or if we have specific questions relating to your account or usage of the site.

Comments

In circumstance where there is an opportunity,  if visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your
profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Other data

We may keep a record of data which is logged automatically by our ISP’s servers, and which we analyse. This includes your IP address, the URL you visited before ours, the URL you visit after leaving our site and which pages you visit on our site. We do not store or analyse this data in a way that identifies any individual.
Use of this information

MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

COOKIES

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

RETAINING DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
